The youngest and first Section of the Scouting family, Beaver Scouts are part of a local Scout Group. They usually meet once a week, with the emphasis on learning through play.
Their uniform is less formal than the older Sections, and are easily recognised by their turquoise sweatshirts and neckies displaying their Group colours.
Activities include drawing and painting, playing games, singing songs, organised visits and trips, and helping others. Some groups organise sleepovers at Scout Activity Centres -- just like being at camp -- only indoors.
Young people can join the Beaver Colony in the three months before their 6th birthday, moving onto the Cub Section sometime between 8 and 8½ years of age.

The Beaver Scout Promise is:
I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God.

The Beaver Scout Motto is:
Fun and Friends
