What is The Scout Fellowship?

Unfortunately, not every Scout group can call on people with the skills to provide a full and exciting programme of activities necessary to fulfil the aim of The Movement.

The Scout Fellowship's purpose is the provision of "Active Support" - and welcomes men and women of all ages, race and creed, interests and backgrounds who have one thing in common--a wish to support Scouting. You're only requirement is the willingness to spare a little time, and offer a little (or a lot) of assistance as a part time leader or helper. In return, you will have the opportunity of making new friends, and take part in activities, active or social that you wouldn't otherwise consider.

What is "Active Support"?

It can be anything you can offer

  • Cooking skills for camps or courses
  • Outdoor activity skills such as canoeing, abseiling climbing or orienteering
  • Supervision assistance at beaver, cub, or scout meetings
  • Help with publicity and fundraising
  • Secretarial / accounting skills for group management
  • Help with activity planning for events and trips

There is also the opportunity through formal training, for members of the Fellowship to develop skills and attain recognised qualifications in a wide range of activities and interests.
